Save and reuse results

Keep a prepared result in DataQloo so the next report starts from trusted data. An Output tool saves the complete result of its connected branch as a reusable dataset.

Create an output dataset

  1. Add Output to the canvas and connect it to the last preparation tool in the branch.
  2. Choose DataQloo Storage as the destination.
  3. Under Output location, select DataQloo Storage and enter a Dataset name.
  4. Select Save workflow, then Run.
  5. Check the completed run and open Datasets to find the saved result.

The first successful run creates the dataset. Later runs of that configured output save a new version of the same dataset. Selecting a tool for a preview leaves the saved dataset unchanged.

If the output form asks for storage configuration, a workspace administrator needs to configure DataQloo Storage before this destination can be used.

Save a new version of an existing dataset

In the Output configuration, choose Existing Datasets, search for the dataset and select it. The picker lists workflow datasets that can receive a new version.

Save the workflow and run it. Each successful publication adds a version. If saving a new version fails, the previous version remains available; inspect Run Details before treating the new result as published.

Reuse prepared data

In another workflow, add Database Source, choose Dataset, and select the saved result. This lets several workflows build on the same prepared dataset while keeping their own transformation steps.

Open the dataset to inspect Overview, Columns and Data Quality, or use Explore to calculate metrics and compare periods. Follow Explore your dataset for that workflow.

Compare dataset versions

Open History on a dataset with saved versions. Choose a Baseline version and a Compare to version to review metric differences, charts and observations.

History compares two saved versions of a dataset. Use Explore when your question concerns dates and trends within the data itself.

Download a complete result

After Run completes, open Export in the results panel and choose Download all rows (CSV) or Download all rows (Excel).

Check the result label before exporting: Complete result identifies the finished run, while Preview · up to 100 rows identifies a tool preview. The preview download options export that preview's rows.
